Working Visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau, 15 December 2021
On 15 December 2021, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) and had meetings in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The PABSEC Secretary General met with Ms. Zinaida Greceanii, former PABSEC President, Leader of the Communist and Socialist Bloc Faction. Ms. Greceanii stressed the importance of strengthening the cooperation, within the framework of the PABSEC, with the Republic of Moldova and noted the professional work of the International Secretariat, headed by the Secretary General, in preparing and holding the PABSEC meetings, at a high level. Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, briefly informed Ms. Greceanii on the results of the 58th General Assembly, and about the organizational preparatory work for the next General Assembly, under the Russian Presidency. He also noted the importance of active cooperation of the PABSEC Moldovan Delegation, in the framework of the Moldovan BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, in the first half of 2022. At the meeting with Mr. Adrian Lebedinschi, Head of the PABSEC Moldovan Delegation, the procedural issues of organizing the work in the Assembly and the contribution of the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova to the activities of the PABSEC, were considered. Mr. Lebedinschi expressed the interest in the work of the Organization and assured the Secretary General of the continuous support to the activities of the Assembly. The PABSEC Secretary General expressed gratitude to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for the significant contribution to the implementation of the tasks and goals of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation. He informed about the current and future work of the Parliamentary Assembly and about the preparations for the 59th PABSEC General Assembly, which will be held in Russia, in June 2022. Also, the PABSEC Secretary General met with Mr. Vladimir Bolea, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova on Agriculture and Food Industry. The Secretary General noted that in the agenda of the 2022 PABSEC General Assembly it is included the issue of cooperation in the field of agriculture, in the Black Sea region. The organization of a joint event on agriculture in Chisinau or Istanbul was discussed.
