Meeting between PABSEC Secretary General Mr. Asaf Hajiyev and H.E. Ms. Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia
On 13 October 2025, on the margins of the Meeting of the Committee on Economic and Development Policy, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General met with H.E. Ms. Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia (NARS). The meeting was also attended by Ms. Jasmina Obradović, Head of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation, and Mr. Igor Bečić, Member of the National Assembly of Serbia and former Head of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation. The PABSEC Secretary General conveyed his profound gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly for the excellent organization and high-level hosting of the Committee Meeting. He underlined the valuable and consistent contribution of the Serbian delegation to the activities of PABSEC, stressing its constructive role in promoting the Assembly’s objectives. He also briefed the Serbian side on the Assembly’s ongoing initiatives and the preparations for the forthcoming 66th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, which will take place in Sofia from 23 to 25 November 2025. In her remarks, H.E. Ms. Ana Brnabić reaffirmed the firm commitment of the Serbian Parliament and delegation to the objectives of the Assembly. She emphasized the readiness of the National Assembly of Serbia to continue its active and constructive engagement in the work of the Assembly, highlighting the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, promoting inclusive dialogue, and advancing initiatives that bring concrete benefits to the peoples of the Black Sea region. The sides also exchanged views on the challenges currently facing the Black Sea region, including its strategic importance for both regional and global energy markets. They underlined the urgent need to strengthen collective efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace, stability, and security, thereby fostering sustainable economic development. The meeting was further attended by Mr. Borys Kolisnychenko, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, Ms. Milena Ljubinković, Secretary of the Committee on Economic and Development Policy and Ms. Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the Committee on Legal Affairs and International Cooperation.
