Working Visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Ankara, 9 December 2025
On 9 December 2025, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Ankara and met with Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT). The PABSEC Secretary General expressed his gratitude to the Speaker for the continuous support extended to the PABSEC’s activities and highlighted the valuable contribution of the GNAT to the work of the Assembly and its International Secretariat. He informed the Speaker about the results of the 66th PABSEC General Assembly, held on 23–25 November 2025 in Sofia, as well as the events to be organised within the framework of the PABSEC Georgian Presidency. Mr. Hajiyev also informed Mr. Kurtulmuş about the the forthcoming elections for the position of Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administrative and Financial Matters, which will take place during the Plenary Session in Georgia. The Speaker of the GNAT expressed gratitude to the PABSEC Secretary General for the cooperation, expressed full support for the activities of the PABSEC, and assured that the Turkish Parliament and the PABSEC Turkish Delegation would continue to contribute to the work of the Assembly. The meeting was attended by the Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, Mr. Fatih Dönmez. During the meeting between the PABSEC Secretary General and the Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, Mr. Fatih Dönmez, Mr. Hajiyev expressed his gratitude for the continuous support and assistance in addressing matters related to the work of the PABSEC International Secretariat. He also discussed with Mr. Dönmez the results of the 66th PABSEC General Assembly, the forthcoming events, as well as issues related to the PABSEC budget. Mr. Fatih Dönmez expressed his appreciation to the Secretary General for his constructive work and continuous efforts. He assured that the Turkish Parliament and the Turkish Delegation to the PABSEC would continue to actively contribute to the activities of the Assembly.
