H.E. Mr. Cha Kon Il, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Bulgaria, paid a visit to the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul on 28 November 2019 and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General. Mr. Kim Chol Min, First Secretary in the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Sofia also participated in the meeting. Mrs. {Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee also participated in the Meeting. During the meeting, Mr. Hajiyev briefly informed about the PABSEC activities and structure. He informed the guests about the current and future activities of the Assembly and that the forthcoming PABSEC General Assembly will take place in Georgia in June 2020. He also informed the Ambassador Cha Kon Il about the necessary procedure of obtaining the Observer Status in the PABSEC. The PABSEC Secretary General underlined that the Parliamentary Assembly contributes to the strengthening of the multilateral cooperation within the wider Black Sea Region, as well as the establishment of interaction between the PABSEC and the parliaments of the other countries. Ambassador Cha Kon Il expressed the interest of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in developing the relations with the PABSEC and more active participation in the meetings and projects of the Assembly. An intention was expressed to consider the possibility of mutually beneficial cooperation between the PABSEC and the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and it was noted that the first step towards the cooperation will be exchange delegations between the PABSEC and the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
