Participation of the PABSEC Delegation in the monitoring of the Early Parliamentary Elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku, 8-10 February 2020

On 8-10 February 2020, the PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Petar Kanev, Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation, Mr. Otar Danelia, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, Mr. Ramaz Nikolashvili, Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee and member of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, Mr. Maksim Shchablykin, member of the PABSEC Russian Delegation, Mr. Cemal Ozturk, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the monitoring of the early parliamentary elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The PABSEC Participation in the 15th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC), Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 27-30 January 2020

The PABSEC delegation, composed of Mr. Mikhail Emelianov, Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee and Head of the PABSEC Russian Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the 15th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC), which was held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on 27-30 January 2020 upon the invitation of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso.

Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Ankara, 22 January 2020

On 22 January 2020, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Ankara and met with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) Mr. Mustafa Sentop. Mr. Cemal Ozturk, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation also participated in this meeting.

Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General to the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Sofia, 16 January 2020

On 16 January 2020 Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Sofia and met with Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Mr. Petar Kanev, Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation also participated in the meeting.

On December 26, 2019, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited the Parliament of Georgia and met with Mr. Archil Talakvadze, PABSEC President, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia. The Secretary General congratulated the President of the Parliament of Georgia on his election to the high post, as well as on the assumption of the PABSEC Presidency by the Parliament of Georgia and wished success in the further endeavours.

The 9th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) was held in Baku on 18 December 2019, upon the invitation of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, presented the PABSEC at this event.

H.E. Mr. Cha Kon Il, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Bulgaria, paid a visit to the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul on 28 November 2019 and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General. Mr. Kim Chol Min, First Secretary in the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Sofia also participated in the meeting. Mrs. {Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee also participated in the Meeting.

The 50th Plenary Session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS was held in St. Petersburg on 22 November 2019, at the headquarters of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States - the Tavricheskiy Palace. Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General represented the PABSEC in this Meeting.
